Pepe do you know if there is cutting and soldering of wires for a 2010 GTI? (made in April this year)??
It is reasonably easy to do, just need a couple of hours if you're not familiar with pulling apart dash trim, etc. You'll need a lot of patience too. If you want it enabled in the MFD, you'll need access to a VAG-COM cable. Oh, and there is some cutting of wires and soldering involved for the R.
I'm 99.9% sure the loom would word regardless of 730b or c.

Well, if you have factory fitted voice recognition, then there'll be a mic up in the central bit where the lights are above your head. As that mic uses 2 pins which are also the pins in for the phone kit, you basically have to cut the wires on the loom, then cut the wires on the factory mic plug (which is the same plug as the phone loom), and essentially frankenstein the two. It's only 2 wires that need to be done, but you do have to be careful because you basically have to do it in the car. I imagine that this wouldn't be different for a 2010 GTI than it is for a 2010 R.
If you don't have inbuilt voice control, then you'll have to run a mic cable and install the mic you get with the kit.
Have created a DIY for the installtion of the 9w7 bluetooth kit I got from Ebay from the bloke in Spain. See the 'Summary of Bluetooth Options' stick thread.

It’s a good kit, quality is even better than the OEM Parrot kit I had in my Mark V GTI. I am frustrated though, both my BlackBerry & iPhone’s voice dialling is not being initiated by any of the buttons mentioned in the instruction manual, and the dealer is not familiar with MY11 kit workings. Also a friend of mine is being charged $1295 for a factory Bluetooth kit, because apparently it needs different modules when connecting to the NAV? is this true? or is the dealer having a lend? (mine was $600 inc GST)

The MY11 Bluetooth is $550 from the factory, regardless of whether there is Sat Nav or not.
I haven't seen the instructions specifically for the 9ZB before, but I know that for other recent VW kits, the "voice dialing" doesn't initiate the phone's voice dialing, it initiates the voice dialing of the bluetooth's phonebook. Thus you actually need to record the "voice names" of the phonebook entries yourself. I saw this on "AskaVWSalesGuy" at some point, and it was not for the 9ZB... but maybe that'll help.
Has anyone else experienced any static (you know when a mobile gets to close to a radio it produces that annoying sound) whilst making a call on the factory fitted bluetooth as mentioned above??
I find it quite annoying seeing as the blue ant one I have been using doesn't do it...
Cheers

I'm using a HTC HD2 with Android on it and spent about an hour on the phone today alone. Audio is nice and clear and haven't had anyone comment on issues hearing me etc like they did using my previous blueant 3 or speakerphone in the car. Also had no issues turning the car off and having it transfer the call back to the phone.
Phonebook is a bit slow so can't really scroll numbers on the MFD but search feature on the touch screen works nice enough so quite happy.
Bumping.
Can someone direct me to a link to buy the 9ZB kit? or its equivalent?
Thanks in advance.
Sam
