Does it support the required cellular bands for Australia?

Don't think it matters. Unless you've got an external antenna, I think the GSM/3G signal is still received by the phone, not the BT unit. There is a VW kit from that Polish guy that has an external GSM antenna, but I think it might be the Nokia kit by another name.

This is correct. The BT unit only interfaces with the phone's BT signal and has nothing to do with the Carriers broadcast bands & frequencies.

Go to an imagehosting site i.e. ImageHost.org - Free Image & File Hosting or ImageShack® - Online Media Hosting and upload the picture from your computer.
Then paste the link from the picture (ending in .jpg) in the forum between the [img]xxxx[/img] tags

ive got an my11 gti (received on friday!) and can say that the BT works absolutely perfectly with my old iphone 3g.... never misses a beat... the only problem is that to use BT audio u need to first select a song on the phone and press play, then connect on the radio unit (so u end up missing a second or so of the song). after that u can select whatever song u like. no big problem though, still a fantastic feature.
make and receive calls are easy, retrieving phone book and call records is never an issue, and it connects automatically everytime when i hop in the car and turn the ignition.... its such a great feature....

Thanks for the pics. Does the inventory list any model numbers or part numbers or somesuch in relation to the BT unit?

So here's the origin of the "9ZB" code : http://vag-codes.info/files/vag-option-codes.pdf - it's a VAG code... or, use this : VAG Codes and save yourself the 2mb download.

It is different to the 9W7 listing, but for 9ZB it is a VW part for UHV High

9W7 is listed as Preparation for telephone (all-purpose cellular phone preparation-NAR) - I assume NAR is North America Region.

Keen to see what our Canberra friend has to say... but I'm still going to pull the trigger shortly on the 9W7 kit I think.
