The information on the MY11 Bluetooth (VW code: 9ZB), is that it is factory fit option for Golf, Golf Wagon, Tiguan, and Eos, and Standard in Passat CC. It won't be available in the Bettle, Passat, Jetta or Touareg because all of these are getting a complete new model, so won't have a "MY11" model in their current form.

It is a factory fitted option for $550 (at least in the Golf).
No word one whether it can be a dealer fitted accessory, whether it can be fitted on MY10 and older cars, or how much it would cost etc.

I have been informed that it has all the advantages of the Skoda Kit & 'Premium' kit, but much more cost effective (basically makes all the existing Bluetooth options redundant).

It works with the RCD310/510 and RNS510, in combination with Multi-Function Steering wheel and MFD Plus.
Apparently works with "generally all bluetooth phones".
    Allows Bluetooth Audio Streaming
Alows operation via the phone,. MFD Plus, and RCD510/RNS510 touch screens
Allows phone book via RCD510/RNS510 touch screens
Thanks for the tip. My dealer confirmed this and has had my GTD order amended to include factory-fitted bluetooth for $550. Very happy and I'm test-driving a manual GTD tomorrow.

I found gone online to search for the 9ZB and I have found a few European sites that I have translated via Google, and I cant seem to find very much on it. There is some other unit alot of the people are talking about here:

    Google Translate

So if the 9ZB is as simple as that to install... I cant see why our VW Dealers cant install it.

Considering that URL says "rSAP" and nowhere does it mention 9ZB, I'm not sure that is really what you think it is.
rSAP would mean it could not be used with the iPhone btw - so that's why I'm not sure that link has anything to do with 9ZB.

I spoke with a dealer on the weekend... his opinion was that it would be a dealer fit as he seemed to think they had ordered kits separately from the ones being fitted in the factory. However, he couldn't confirm any details whatsoever (date, price, etc) so it's a waiting game. I'm going to wait a few weeks longer before I give in and order the Skoda kit, even though I'd prefer the MY11 kit if they are functionally identical - at least you get a local warranty it something goes bang.

Now if only I could convince them to do a dealer fit RVC (as opposed to the $1800 asking price from a certain place in Sydney)

Pepe I am thinking I will play the waiting game as well. If only I waited just that bit longer and my GTD would have had the MY11 bluetooth...

Got some info from my Dealer Re: the MY11 Bluetooth in the form of a scan. It doesn't have a heap of info but it claims to be:

"Generally Suitable for all Bluetooth phones - Bluetooth hands free profile"

I might look at linking up a copy when I get home. Assuming I am not liable to be breaching any NDA's (which I doubt).

Edit: See post below, I'm a nub (info is already on the first page) and I have removed details from this post that could be deemed confidential (no NDA but it was probably chopped off).

Well, you may want to read the disclaimer at the bottom of the page about confidential material and distribution being prohibited before you do so

Was in 2 dealers yesterday asking about this (parts guys have no idea, it's not on their system, so they say ask the sales guys).

Long and the short of it is that whilst dealers can order MY11 cars with MY11 Bluetooth kits, they do not have any info on the kit yet. There has also been no communication to dealers at all that the current kits will be changing (if you buy them from the parts guys). I pushed a dealer further about it and said surely it must be just a kit and requires some coding to the car, but he said it wasn't, he'd been told there was some "cellular preparation" that was only able to be done at the factory. I'm thinking that perhaps that's some kind of external (to the RNS/BT unit) antenna, but he didn't have details. Also, still no idea on timeframes.

One dealer I spoke with said they'd still recommend the Kufatec unit, the other one had the kit with the extra LCD screen (linked in the sticky thread about BT options).

Doing a few hours of research over the past couple of days, it seems that the new kit overseas that everyone is talking about is the 9W7 kit. It supercedes the 9W2 and 9W3 kits in terms of functionality, supports iPhone/Blackberry, A2DP and is more reliable. It also has an inbuilt BT antenna, so fitting it is simpler than previous kits as you just need to hook up the mic and head unit to the control unit. If you have a VW kit already in, it's a direct swap of the control unit too. It does require coding to get it to work though.

I can't wait any longer as I need to be able to take calls in the car for work, so I'm going to get a 9W7 kit from Fleabay from the Polish dude and give it a shot. Found a detailed forum thread in the UK about fitting BT kits to the R so will attempt myself anyway (going to do the RVC at the same time). From what I can tell, the 9W7 kit has all the functionality you'd need and/or expect in the 9ZB kit anyway.
