This is interesting, and I assume many other AVC9000 units were also effected, although there has not been many posters here.

I still have the antenna off mine, awaiting a new one, so may plug the old one back in tomorrow, and see if it comes back to life. I also note that many of the Europeans using a similar gps chipset, have either installed a patch, or the signal came back on 21st. Otheres are now complaining that the gps cannot hold the time correctly. Will see I guess.

    Hi,

Just wondering how you went with your new head unit for your passat. Is it working OK and did you install it yourself or not?

Mate, you've just resurrected a 6 month old thread with nearly 500 posts in it... you may need to be a tiny bit more specific...

Great thread here fellas, very helpful!

Has anyone tried putting one of these things in a T5 Transporter? I've got an 06 1.9TDI..... seen stacks of them on ebay but I'd rather go with a proper shop for the support, especially as Rob sounds very helpful.

    Your thoughts?

    Cheers,

    Pete.

I grabbed an 9000-1 off Rob a few weeks ago after losing the 9000 (courtesy of my bro in law). Must say the 9000-1 is a much better IMO. Agree with others re better fit, better GUI (although it's the same for every source which is a bit boring). Only problem I've had is bluetooth can't access my phone book. Have tried two different phones - no good. It hangs for ages trying to access it, then reports that no records found. Am I not doing something?

BTW, the new digital screen is fantastic. No more problems in daylight. And Rob, as always, is a gentleman to deal with.

I've just installed my 9000-1 and the screen is very reflective in daylight, have I forgotten to remove a film or something, or is there a setting somewhere I need to change ?

It's quite badly reflective during daytime and finger prints stand out a mile.

    Thanks
    Paul

i have searched/tinkered/torn my hair out for a good solid 8-10 hours of webtime and am extremely frustrated. Basically, my AVC came with Route66 and TomTom loaded (but no IGO) and out of nowhere my TT just deleted itself.
So i figured i'd try and get IGO up and running, but it just is not co-operating.

So, my question is, does anyone have a file that they could upload to a sharing site or even as a torrent to send me to help? Ideally i'd like to have IGO but would be happy with TomTom.
    TIA for the help
