    Not true.
You can buy the VW Satnav after delivery. There may be a problem with supply though.

Have you tried tinting the windows?

    Hi,

Has anyone installed the current version3 unit? I've been told it has the MFD and CANBUS issues resolved.

Which Unit 9000 or 9000-1 requires the Y-adaptor to fix the reception problem? Is one of the unit better suited to the MarkV golf GTI? Which is the better unit?

Anyone in Perth with a new unit installed? Thanks!

Dont know about the problems being resolved with the MK3 unit. Should be ok by now you would think.

Both the 9000 and 9000-1 need Y adaptors for the antenna.

I think most would consider the 9000-1 or WD6050 as the better unit. The menu looks slightly better and the unit looks just like the RNS510.

The only plus with the AVC9000 is that it has a bigger screen and rear USB input.

    Thanks for your response Faisan,

I am swinging towards the 9000-1 as it does look like the VW unit. Did you instal the unit yourself? Worth doing?

Yep definitely install it yourself. Very easy to do if you are careful.

    Faisan,

Matter of curiosity, where do you plug the Y-adaptor? Noticed you have the Parrot BT, is that still needed?

    Cheers

Your car has 2 antennas, hence 2 cables. The AVC has only one antenna socket. You plug your two antennas (FAKRA type connectors) into the Y-piece and the other end of it into the antenna socket at the back of the AVC9000. Be very careful doing this as the FAKRA connector has a very fine centre pin that is easy to bend over if not connected exactly straight.
I have found the BT of theAVC9000 to be quite OK, you have to speak up a bit so your voice carries over to the mic which is on the left (LHD cars in China) Need for Parrot is personal preference - if you are not happy with the AVC implementation.

Original AVC9000 has rear IPOD adaptor (I cabled mine into glove box) but doesn't charge most IPods, so it goes flat in there. You can plug your IPOD into the front USB connector and it charges, as well as being seen as an external device and playing the music!

    Hope that helps..

Can anyone assist with some detailed instruction on how to install the AVC-9000-1 in an Eos? (The Chinglish instruction booklet is absolutely hopeless)
I sourced one from somewhere other than Auspac Electronics and the installer cant get the unit to interface properly with the CAN-BUS, and the unit will only work when the ignition is on. As it was he said he had all sorts of trouble even finding power to run it at all. Either there is something the installer doesnt know, or Auspac's units have different firmware or connector(s). Thanks in advance.
