It has an input for video or TV and a separate input for the reverse camera.
I am going to put a splitter on my reverse camera input and plug it into the video input socket as well as the reverse camera input socket. By connecting the cameras power on all the time I should be able to have a chase camera working!
Are you sure about this? I cant see from the manual that it has a seperate camera input. Will be great if it does. http://members.optusnet.com.au/auspacke/AVC9000.pdf The wiring diagram is on page 5.
Yes I am sure,
I have my reverse camera going into the one marked "reverse input"
I still have the AV one with nothing going into it. I know this because I had tried having the TV tuner plugged into this but could not pick up any analog TV signals for obvious reasons.
So yes, 1x AV input, 1x Reverse camera input = 2 inputs.
No there is 1 wire that tells the AVC that reverse is engaged.
There is a separate AV REverse input female connector.
Also a separate AV INput female connector RCA
Thanks again Polarbear. The manual sucks!

Hi, new to the forum, recently got a 06 golf gti, and after reading this forum, Stumbled upon this topic about the AVC-9000. Are there any of them left, coz it sounds like a pretty awsome deal? I know it has been asked 10000 times probably, but does anybody know if they are still able to be purchased and where at.
Thanks.
