Sorry for my ignorance, how to put it on Auto Zoom?

When in map mode press the right nob under screen. Turning it when press manually alters zoom level

Next thing is to read the manual LOL

Without going out to car I cant remember exactly but that nob alters it.

My V6 Map install is missing street names as well. I've reburnt it twice, i downloaded a new copy, the MD5 hash is the same between the 2 I downloaded so can't figure out whats going on?

I rolled back to V5 and i get (limited) street names in 3D... install V6 and no street names...

???

I'm having a similar issue with missing street names and lacking topography (i.e lack of colour). Strangely though when I insert the Nav DVD, the details come back. Looks like all info hasn't been loaded on to the hard drive, so is using the DVD to get the street etc, information.

Not sure how to fix this. Can anyone help out with this?

Burn it as slow as possible on a -R DVD using IMGBURN and it will be as good as it gets

I have burned 3 disks and all are the same.
I have cream ground and it shows blue for water also green for the grass areas.
In 3D zoomed in it doesnt show all the street names but if you put it in 2D and zoom out a bit it will.

If you put it on auto zoom it should show the street names OK.

In 3D it will show the adjacent streets as you pass them (25m late unfortunately) but wont show many other street names.

Or you can bring your car to VW Service and for $75 they will upload the latest maps via the computer connection.

Just stuck the disc in both times they did mine. They gave it to me and let me do it in the carpark No computers in sight

Can someone with a GENUINE V6 map post what they get on the screen, like does it have all the street names in 3D mode.

I've burned the DVD that way, and the drive IS reading from it ok, but just not loading the info onto the hard drive. Maps work perfectly with the DVD in the drive, but when you take it out, all street names and topography disappear after a few minutes.

So, the question is, how do I do a reinstall of the maps and choose to load onto the hard drive. I'm not getting that option now when I insert the DVD.

I think people have mentioned that in 3D mode you DONT get all the streets names. this has been the case for me since V4 maps when I first got my car.

Put it into 2D mode and you get them all at a certain zoom and closer.

for the guy who doesn't have all information, leave the DVD in there for about 20 mins, it probably hasn't copied all the data over to the hard drive yet.

Put it in 2D and they are there. When you drive along with it in 3D the adjacent ones are there but not as many as V5 However the speed indicator is better and the roads are more up to date.

If you zoom it out to 400m in 3D they will show up better Put it on Auto Zoom and it will then zoom in when you get near a turn on your trip The correct info also shows up in the MFD with the distance to turns with the street name

Did you try it with the DVD inserted? See my earlier post. Doesn't seem to matter how long I leave the DVD in for, not long after I take it out, the names and 'textures' disappear again.

what version Firmware are you running?
