    Updating CANBUS for RCD500-510

    Need help as i cant find i solid answer on this, i have spent about 4 hours searching the net...

    Is it possible to UPDATE my existing canbus from my 2006 TDI Golf to cater for the RCD510 with VCDS?

    You need VCDS to check what canbus version you have and then check against the list in this post, Can Gateway upgrades (Battery drain fix after RNS, RCD units install)

    Hi there, I have a CAN gateway unit that I ordered for my RCD510 upgrade, found out at the end my car already came with a updated CAN gateway. If you need one just let me know. Cheers

    Thanks Transporter, i have looked at that tread and inboxed you, what i was wondering is how the acctuall upgrade is done, is it done with the VCDS?
