    Trouble installing V4.1 Maps

    Hi All,

Recently bought a V4.1 disk off eBay to update my RNS510, however I'm having some trouble installing the maps.

The disk is a burnt copy, however the seller assures me he has sold the disk to other people who have had no issues (his feedback indicates that at least one person has been able to use one of his burnt copies).

Whenever I insert the disk I get an error; 'CD/DVD error. Please check CD/DVD'.

The seller advised that it may be an issue with the burn speed. He burnt his CD at 8x, so I've tried burning copies at a speed of 4x on both CDs and DVDs. Still no luck.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks guys.

Ask for your money back. 4.1 is now outdated. V5 is available.

The money for the CD has already been refunded, so that's not a major issue.

A quick search online and I've managed to find and download what is apparently the latest version of V5 maps.

Have put the file on to a DVD, and still no luck.

I'm attempting all of this on a Mac, so not too sure if that's where I'm going wrong, or whether there's a certain procedure or method I'm missing...

Yes ... that's probably the reason.

Need to read up or search on how to burn iso file properly using disk utility.

Alternatively, bootcamp and burn running under Windows.

I had the same issue when I was using Mac. Used windows and used Imgburn to burn at 1x, which worked.

So sat down and had another fiddle with Disk Utility.

After a little fiddling, I now have map version 7679 installed on my unit. I believe this means I have V5 maps.

Thanks all for your help, much appreciated!
