Is there a DIY to remove centre console?

Would like to do a replace of mine with one that can hold the MDI/CD Changer.

There were some threads that came up on google but all of the images are expired, does anyone know the part numbers needed and rough idea, and or DIY to change this?

Note, my current console does not have any form of cooling, just plugs covering those holes. if this makes a dif.

    thanks, V

I used this when installing my sub:

But that's for an mk5...need to specify which car you have
I look at my V-Dub, and all I can think is....."Dat Ass....."

I took that as meaning the centre console, not the stereo surround.
Most people who have looked at going the MDI route aftermarket have installed it behind the glovebox with the lead coming through the top inside corner.
If you were going to go the CD changer / complete replacement route, get your new one first and that will give you an idea of where *most* of the fittings and fixings are.

hehe posted this a while ago, ended up taking out all screws in centre, and pulling it apart, ran a long ipod cable from glove box and coming out of my centre console, pretty handy.
