Hi everyone, so I just picked up my 2010 R36 last night and I'm stoked with it! There is only 1 strange thing thats bothering me and it's to do with the ipod connection.
I'm not sure what model number the stereo is (I see a lot of talk about RNS510 and RCD510 etc) but I have the factory ipod connection that is in the roof of the glove box and have the touch screen stereo unit that has a 6 cd staker behind it.
When I'm playing a song on an ipod if I try to select via genre and have multiple albums by the same artist it will play the wrong song when I select to play the whole album.
E.g.:
- I pick a Genre, then pick "Artist X"
- Under "Artist X" I have 4 Options in a list. All, album 1, album 2, album 3 and there is a play symbol next to each album name.
- If I click the play symbol next to an album, say album 3 (the 4th item on screen) then it will start playing the 4th song listed in "All". If I click the 3rd item it will play the 3rd item from "All" etc.
- This means that no matter what album I pick it will almost always start playing a song from the first album.
I've also noticed that if I go to a genre then select "All" it seems to give me a list of all artists not just that genre's artists.
It basically seems like the sorting by genre is all messed up. Selecting by artist or album seems to work ok. This is a bit of a pain since in my ipod I have about 70GB worth of music and with so many artists and albums the only way I've found to really find what I want is to use the genre to narrow down the music first.
Has anyone else come across this problem? I'd be very keen to get it fixed. I was thinking it may be a firmware update issue or something like that but I have no idea how to check what version I have.
Oh also this isn't an issue with my ipod as I have checked it with my fiance's and hers does exactly the same thing.
Any suggestions?
