Speaker sizes and space for 6R Polo?

Speaker sizes and space for 6R Polo?

Im yet to look for my self as my car is a week off but im interested to see what size the OEM speakers are and what size / type of speaker people have manged to fit in there polo and what they think of the sound from them in the space (good/bad)
and how much room was around the speaker if it didnt take up all the space in the door & wether sound deadning was used

Im getting the GTI which i know has splits in the front which im 99% sure ill change as the sound in the demo was not to good (all though my last car had a 14 speaker audio system including sub)

Going to put a slimline sub in the rear which will be very simple as the battery is already there and power to the amp will be easy to run.

I have a Golf Mk6 so not sure how the doors differ in size with a Polo but I had aftermarket Dynaudio 242GT speakers installed together with Focal sound deadening and baffles in the doors. These speakers could be installed without drilling any new holes in the door. I originally wanted some Audison Voce AVK6 speakers installed but was advised that the speakers were too deep and would need cutting the doors interior to fit them.

Not many of us have done audio upgrades, bigger audio systems mean weight. Weight means slower car

On a serious note however, you do realise that your basically removing all your boot space by fitting a sub yeah? In regards to the door speakers, almost exactly identical to the mk4 golf and 9n polo behind the door cards. Anything that fits them should fit your 6R.

Check with Allegiance. He changed basically the whole sound system in his 77TSi before upgrading to a 9N3 GTi

They weight gain will be stuff all ill be using armid fibre, magnesuim ferite reference speakers which are bigger but often weigh less then there counterparts.
As for the sub taking up room. If boot space was a premium i would not be getting a polo. a 12 inch slim line sub will not take up much room at all and with all my cars iv modded the cables will have connectors so i can take it out if needed.

ill hit up the guys with 9n3 models to see how much room there is.

they will be 6.5" components in the front doors. However, they are a really good starting point however. Install a small 25-45wrms x 2 or 4 channel amp. They will sound much better. Before replacing them at all.

Otherwise you can replace them. Depth from memory is the same as the new mk6. So speaker depth of more then 70mm will most likely be pushing it.

    Bump on this one.

Interested to know what would sound better than what I currently have in my 2013 77tsi comfortline.

I want to keep the RCD510 though.

    Any speaker size/recommendations???

    Please and thankyou!
