what phone? You should still be able to search and pair via the phone.. When you tried pairing was your already paired phone connected or was the module attempting to connect?, was the ignition on for more than approx 5min?

Was an iPhone six, my phone an iPhone 5 had bluetooth turned off. I simply could not see the headunit on the 6
Just make sure your iPhone is also on the latest software. I know my 5s updated iOS couple days ago. It may fix the concern with the iPhone 6. Have not been able to test yet with a 6.
i bet its the new iphone...just search for vwphone as soon as you turn the ignition on as i think it times out after a while..

It is definitely a phone concern as the hardware is different in the iphone6. Whether a future software update from either Apple or vw address this concern we will have to wait. I can only imagine that the volkswagen systems are not the only to have this concern.
My rcd510 doesn't wanna pair with my iPhone 6 either :$
