    Veebs,

Yes I do have MFSW. These kits are the genuine VW item with the VW part No on them so once connected they intergrate with everything that the car has.

You can answer and hang up using the phone button on the steering wheel as well as reading sms on the MFD and also scrolling through your phone book using steering wheel control. You can basically operate the whole phone via the steering wheel to make or receive calls if you like.

Just dropped my R36 in there tonight to be done the next couple of days whilst I'm interstate. Let you all know how it goes, they are very professional and seem bloody switched on.

    How much do they charge?

I'm also having a RVC installed (wagon) and the in motion override fitted so the price I was quoted wasn't for the BT alone. I'm hopefully picking it up tomorrow night so I'll ask him about the BT install and if he's happy for me to put the price up, otherwise I'll send you a PM.

Reading what others are paying for the BT alone I think you'll be pretty happy with their pricing.

In terms of quality they seem right onto it, they're installing an Audi A4 boot handle with camera so it remains a factory look.

I just got my 2010 Tiguan back from the dealer. They attempted to install the Skoda kit (729 E) I got from Poland for me, but failed. They stated that they couldn't get their CAN bus unit to talk to the RNS510 once the provided BT harness was plugged in. I need to get a look at the back of the unit to see if they plugged everything in properly or just assumed that the new harness on its own was complete. Is there some info somewhere on pulling out the RNS510 from a Tiguan?
    Cheers,

I ordered the same kit, so may be in the same boat.

Did they still charge you for installation. The Bluetooth options main thread does say something about the canbus.

Yes, two hours of their labour.
They said that because they couldn't talk to the RNS510, they couldn't put in the 4 digit code to activate the unit.
I drove the car home and the RNS510 worked. Presumably I'll find that they put the old plug back in and set the unit up again.
My guess is that they didn't transfer the CD plug from the existing harness to the new harness and that the computer refused to respond until all of the connections were in place. Just my guess though.
I'll re read the main BT thread, but I wasn't there to see what they did so I'm just guessing.

So, just picked the R36 up from Auto Fidelity tonight and I have to say I am loving the job they've done.

    BLUETOOTH INSTALLATION
First off, I can't believe how good the audio quality is for the person at the other end (and I'm using iPhone). I have a professional Nokia kit in my other car and it doesn't even come close. I've also heard the Parrot unit before and this is definitely better. it's almost impossible to detect you're using a car kit, no echo whatsoever. It's fully integrated into the 510 and also the dash display. Steering wheel controls, address book, call lists and all. I can even dial from a POI in my GPS.

    REVERSE CAMERA
Is also integrated perfectly and I have the option to swap between the OPS & the camera. They used an Audi A4 boot handle which has the camera integrated into it and is a perfect fit. Only thing not factory about it is that you don't get the lines on the screen which move as your steering wheel does. Have to say though that after using it a few times tonight, I regret getting it. I think it's a total wank factor when you have the OPS. In saying that though it's obviously good from a safety perspective in not running down a toddler.

    DVD IN MOTION OVERRIDE MODULE
Works as it's meant to. Only issue I have is that I just popped a region 4 DVD in and it says region error. I'm sure this is easily fixed and as I had a burnt DVD in at the time of the installation they probably missed it. No biggie as I usually only keep burnt music DVD's in the car as they're always subjected to more punishment.

    QUALITY OF INSTALLATION
Is fantastic. They specialise in high end vehicles (heaps of Audi's) and they showed me through a CC which had been sent from a dealer in Sydney to have work done to it. (BT, TV, Camera, etc..) They were half way through it and the entire dash and console was covered in a special protective adhesive, every loom is protected with a factory felt sleeve and they use felt tape everywhere. It had a totally factory feel to it and you would certainly feel confident leaving your vehicle in their hands. They even gave it a full vacuum and the best thing is that a rattle I had in the console has now disappeared.

So, if you haven't gathered by now I would certainly recommend these guys.

    OK, here's the washup.
I opened the dash today and had a look to see what the dealer had done.
The loom was in fact the new one. The only error was that they hadn't moved the CD plug across from the old to the new.
I did that and then checked to see what I had. The RNS510 still worked (even though the dealer insisted that they were giving me a non-working unit because they couldn't talk to it and enter the code) and blow me down - so does the bluetooth.
I assume that the mechanic had turned on the bluetooth feature and then forgot to turn it off again.
It bugs me that I can't explain why it's working (haven't read anything that says the CAN bus auto detects/configures the 9W3) but hey - I don't have to spend any more effort on it.
    Cheers
