SD Card Problem with RNS 510

Sry if i re-post this thread, i did a bit research, but couldnt get the answer.

I just DIY installed the RNS510 last night, around half hour, i have not take it to dealer to re-programming yet.

when i insert my SD Card(which works fine in RCD 510), it shows SD card Error, check SD Card, so how is this problem occured? or i may just wait dealer to reprogramming it?

    thank you very much

What size is the SD Card, have you tried formatting it or another card?

What version firmware is the nav?

Is just ask the dealer if you got it from them in case it's faulty but could let them do the firmware update anyway.

IIRC, older firmware and hardware versions support only up to 2GB, your RCD510 is a much newer product and will support larger format cards. If your RNS has older software versions (I think below 2660), it won't support it. Check with Mav's website. He has all the details there.

i am using 4GB sdhc card, the version as stated by seller is 2720.
i will try to talk with dealer to see what will happen, but they told me they will charge one hour label cost to re programming.
if in this case, i will like to pay. i think it costs around $140

2720 is the SOFTWARE version loaded on the RNS510. The hardware version AND the software version dictate whether a 4GB SDHC card will work or not - only recent RNS510s with 2660 software or later will read those. Try a 2GB SD card - if it works then you have an older hardware version that will not read 4GB or larger.

2660 or later should enable SDHC I thought, at least i think it did on my RevB Unit.

2660 or later will only enable SDHC IF the underlying hardware also supports it. Not all RNS510s have SDHC capable hardware. From Mav's site:

"Units with firmware from 2660 upwards now have 32GB + SDHC support including older units (from HW04 and above type A units)."

Please keep us posted. It would be interesting to know what he found and the fix.
