    Sat Nav Accuracy Issue

I have noticed that when i am viewing the map screen on my RNS 510 my vehicle location is approx 50 - 100m behind where i am actually situated.

Anyone know what could be causing this? Is there a way of recalibrating?

    I can confirm i have sw version 2760 & V3 maps.

Is yours factory fitted or aftermarket?
Mine is an ebay purchase so I'm considering changing the antenna and seeing if that makes a difference.

is this when you are moving or stationary??
When i am moving the maps certainly lag a little in distance ... i always thought it was an inherent lag in the gps where it takes time for your position to be relayed to the satellite and then back to the car to update on the screen etc so in this time your car has already travelled 50m or so causing an apparent shift in your actual position etc.
when stopped my position is pretty close to being correct on the screen.

It's most noticable when im moving.

From my research it seems to effect some people and not others. Sounds like i may have to just get used to it.

Mines very accurate, even when I'm driving.

Above the centre vents, directly under the dash. This apparently is one of the best places to put it on the Golfs.
