Exclamation Samsung Galaxy S II with Premium VW Kit

I have a Golf VI GTI with RNS510 & premium bluetooth. Have been
advised that the new Samsung Galaxy S II is rsap compatable. However when
attempting to pair, the car finds the phone OK, but when prompted for the pairing
    code (0000) says authentication failure.

    Any clues??

Have also tried (1234) without success

    Thanks
    Gary

Also try. When in the pairing mode, wait for a while do not enter any code maybe the phone will give you the code or pair automatically.

Tried that but still same result. Can anyone with a premium phone kit list the phones that definately work. When
you mention rSAP to the phone shops they just give you a blank look...this area is really a big negative for VW.

Iphone is HFP not RSAP. Samsung galaxy SII should work. Strange that it only gives you a 4 digit code. Most of the time I've paired an RSAP phone it's asked for something like 7777 6666 5555 4444.

Yes you are correct. The dealer supplied me with the incorrect information. I can now pair, but
comes up with an unable to communicate message. Any other ideas??

    Thanks

    I've got the same combination.
It took me some stuffing around to make it work.
I'm sure I only had to enter 0000.

The thing I I've found is you need to have Bluetooth switched on the phone before you start the car.
When I do this it seems to connect and work ok.
If I start the car then turn Bluetooth on the phone it wont automatically connect unless I go into the Bluetooth setting of the phone and hit the "VW Phone" devices and pair.

The reason I'd like this to work is I use a program called "unlock with Wifi" which detects recognized wifi connections and unlocks your phone.
There's also an option to turn on Bluetooth when it disconnects from the recognized wifi connection.
So at home or at work the phone is unlocked, when I get into the car and the wifi cuts out the bluetooth turns on.
The only problem is I still pickup the wifi connection in the car so the Bluetooth only turns on after I drive away from the building and therefore wont automatically connect to the car.

If you manage to get your car to connect to your phone can you see if you see the same behaviour.
I.E. once your car is on you can't automatically pair to the car if you turn the bluetooth on your phone.

When pairing a phone you should do it in a sequence, First have the ignition off and your bluetooth off as soon as you turn on ignition
turn on the bluetooth. Then depending on which VW phone kit you have search for the phone either using search in the phone menu
(basic system) or use the steering wheel functions and access the search function through the MFD(premium system) to initiate a search
Then you will be prompted either by the phone or the MFD to enter the password it can be 4 digits or like rob said 12 digits.
You should always leave your phone bluetooth ON this will always allow connection to your car without re-pairing again.
But its also possible to connect to a premium system by using only the phone at times but this may be due to a software version of the
premium kit?? Also even if your phone does not have RSAP it should still connect with basic functions but your SIM details will not be
    transferred to the bluetooth kit.

I upgraded from a Nokia N96 to Galaxy S2 no dramas (have 9W3 premium Bluetooth). The only difference now is that the the car has its own ringtone in addition to the one my phone plays for incoming calls - never had that with the N96. Annoying, but handy if the phone is on silent, I guess.

I tried 0000 first (remembered that from watching the AskAVWSalesGuy videos ages ago) but then remembered that it was actually 1234. You could also try 12345 (pretty sure its only 4 digits though).

If you or a friend have VCDS I believe you can use it to change the car's bluetooth code.
