RNS510 + Scirocco R + Video on Motion Hack

Has anybody tried getting the video in motion working on the latest RNS510s on the Rocco? Here are my model details.

Just reading through the forums the Berto89 hack seem to be failing on most later model RNS units

I got a 'software downgrade error' when using the following guide + iso.

I am hearing you...I got a stack of dead CD and DVD from trying different burn speeds etc...

EDIT: Files are live on my Dropbox... as long as the links don't get hammered (ie max 20gig per link per day) they won't disable the links - so be nice and don't share the link from here .

Perhaps investigate which file to edit on the Berto CD so that you can change it's version number so that it's slightly higher than your current version.

Otherwise upgrading the entire firmware to version 4x (as posted above) would be the easiest (cheapest) way.

So an update to this - firmware installed correctly but I cant seem to get the map data to work - always fails to read the DVD I burn. And I know I'm burning the ISO correctly because it worked when I was on 3790 moving up to V5 of maps.... but now with the new firmware (4020) I can't get the system to read my DVDs to install the maps (they are a different brand tho? Still DVD-R)

Quite finicky installing these things. Try a CDR instead of a DVD. Burn as slow as possible.

Yep just tried burning another dvd same as before - but worked this time - weird..... oh well.

I Can confirm the above files and process works with the Scirocco R RNS units.

Yes, I also can confirm that burning a DVD at 2x on a Mac in Disk Utility updated my RNS510 "F" without problem - took a hour...
