    Update:

So i plugged into my diagnostic cable and did a scan and it showed me two faults.

    1. Navigation
    2. Stereo

Both faults where the same saying:

GPS antenna fault - Intermittent Earth Loop Fault (or something along those lines)

My guess is the earth is making a bad conneciton. Car is going in for a service on Saturday so I will get them to have a look.

Thought i would put this up incase someone else experiences this.

try resetting the unit by pressing eject info/star button and the 2 arrow buttons across the top of the unit all at the same time for more than 5 seconds should reset the unit if that doesnt fix it more than likely going to need a new unit
