My dealer said they don't supply upgrades

When I picked up my car the map disk was in the glovebox and shown to me. I was told at the time that the dealer won't be selling upgrades. I was told to buy the updated maps from Sensis when they're released.

Which is kind of bizarre as you can't get them from Sensis / Whereis for the RNS510....

    Re: RNS510 Maps Version 3

Pretty crappy no free upgrades from the dealer. No point trying to do the right thing if they charge you $800-1200 per year every time a new version is out.

I believe with alpine you get free upgrades.

my cars due for delivery end of april/eary may, can anybody tell me if i will get v2 or v3 of the maps with the car?

how does it work? are the AU maps loaded on when the car is being built in germany or does the dealer do this ?

i should be entitled to v3 maps if they are the latest when i take delivery of the car yes?

Dealer does it. If it's been released when you pick up the car, yes you should get 3.

    This is very interesting.
When I pick up my GTI I asked for the maps disk and was told that they would check.
I was then told that because the RNS510 was a factory install that no disks are supplied. Disks are only supplied for dealer installs the RNS.

I read earlier that there are sealed maps available on ebay. Excuse me for being paranoid but is someone making a little bit on the side by "on selling"

Tell them to refer it back to VWGroup Aus, because the official advice from them is as above.

My car had an unsealed disk in the glovebox on pickup, the RNS510 is definitely a factory install.
