    RNS510 maps update during service?

I know this is a recurring topic and there's a range of views from people on this forum about it...

I have a Mark 6 Golf GTI with RNS510. The car was delivered May 2010 but was built I think in 2nd or 3rd week. I didn't get a maps DVD for the car.

I read in another thread http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/f78/...olf-58406.html that cars after March 2010 should have V3 maps... I have no idea what maps I have.

My car is booked for service next week. I have read different threads that say my maps will be updated as part of service. But when I spoke to the service rep, he said that wasn't really part of the service.

Is there anyway I can determine my maps version? And how can I get my maps updated if it's not the latest? Obviously, I don't want to fork out $1200 for a new DVD.

Can you do this with your RNS510?
There you will find info about your system.

Hey thanks... I didn't know that you could access a hidden menu by holding down setup button!

I'll try that at home... When I get to the Map Info setup screen, what map version ID is the latest?

If you go into setup and choose NAV on the screen that comes up it will probably tell you.

Mine with V3 maps gives the map version as Sensis 7005, I assume that means the V3 (never thought to look whilst the V2 maps were on it.)

There's an on-line seller in Sydney offering the V3 DVD for $100 — Google for BMW maps and you'll find him.
