both came with V2 maps and DVD in the glove box.
You should defiantly be getting this software and the dvd.
Thanks for the info Dermot. Three questions though and no need to answer if the answers may be sensitive.
1. Is there a cost to the dealer is obtaining the DVD from VWA.
2. Are VWA and dealerships not concerned with the single user licence condition that is on the V2 Maps DVD case.
3. retail price of a V2 map DVD via spare parts.
Thanks again
You know you are getting old when you cancel your order for a 3.6 CC and buy an Icelandic Gray TDI CC instead.

Mmmmm, maybe there are some sensitive issues here which I am either too naive to see or just not aware off. Either way, the whole process of:
- "DVD Provided" versus "DVD NOT Provided",
- "Maps V2 Installed" versus "Maps V1 Only Installed",
- "Corrupted Maps V2" versus "Not Corrupted Maps V2"
...is still not that clear for me.
I'd find it hard to believe if I were the only person confused and wanting to know the correct answers to this. Therefore, does anyone know the answer, preferably not guess work? If so, please share with all of us via this post.
Also, IMO, there should'nt be any need to private message answers to these questions, unless there's some cover up?!?![]()

Has anyone seen the following error message when using the RNS510 Sat. Nav?
- "No Route Recommendations for this Destination"
![]()
![]()
To create error:
- I select new destination (Ok so far).
- I can see the three routes displayed on the screen, so the RNS510 has actually found the routes (good, Ok so far).
- Three route options pop up for selection (Ok so far).
- I select route option 1 (fastest route), it tries to do something, then poooffff... up pops this error message!!! (same happens if I select route option 2 or 3)
- The only option then is to click OK, then the route disappears and I have no navigation, just normal map view!
I'm using RNS510 with the current Maps Version 2 data. This error only happens every now and then, i.e. it does not happen all the time. BUT, when it happens, there's nothing I can do but listen to my music. When I try later, then it's OK.

I have seen exactly that situation, but again only rarely. If you drive perhaps 1 km and try again it usually works. Annoying, but not life threatening.

Are you using the disc provided by Dermot? Is that Version 2 or Version 1?
Also, could you not ask a forum member if they would be willing to load their Version 2 (non corrupted) disc onto your unit, provided you can show you OEM disc (to confirm legality and legitimacy of request)?
Maybe this could alleviate some of the issues that are appearing with your Version 1/2 disc.
I'd help you out...but I don't have an RNS.

Hay Steve, can you please clarify the highlighted part of your post. Are you saying I should NOT be asking people to do this? I have not asked anyone to do this so far? Or, did you mean to say "could you ask...". Sorry, maybe I'm just reading it wrong, it is Friday!. Thanks.
EDIT: p.s. btw, I'm still waiting for my dealer to give me my licensed disk.

I'm still...
I'm getting the impression, from what I've heard and read, that Maps V2 does have some issues, which are random (and not life threatening) and probably very hard to fix, ergo why my dealer probably took the easy path and back-installed Maps V1 instead of trying to trouble shoot Maps V2 with Volkswagen Australia.
Who really knows... I wish someone out there could tell us EXACTLY what the Maps V2 issues are. Anyway, as a customer of a new car, isn't this problem for the dealer and Volkswagen Australia. I don't see why I should be the one to be penalised with old map data just because there are some issues (what ever they are) with Maps V2 which (for reasons unknown) no one seems to have wanted to fix!!
