I think this might be a bug.

I have seen it happen from time to time with my iPhone on the MDI.

I cannot help out as it does not really both me and its random..

Just a suggestion on something you can try, if your Ipod has gapless playback or a crossfade option, try turning it off and see if it makes any difference. Some ipods will let you switch it off in the Playback menu, some others might make you do it via iTunes.

Thanks for the tip but we have tried that and the problem still occurs.

The crossfade option was never active on my iTunes and it is off in the iPod menu as well.

I was really hoping that would fix the problem but unfortunately it didn't....

Did your MDI interface with standard usb connection cable work with your iPOD plugged into it via its own standard cable that you use to plug an iPOD into the computer "usb to iPOD white cable"?, or did you need to replace the supplied MDI to usb cable that comes with the car with a different one at yet more additional expense?

Picked up the car today - and the MDI interface states that neither my old nor new iPOD nano is compatible with the MDI interface, nor does it charge the battery in the iPOD. I only have the RNS310 system+MDI, not the RNS510.

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
You need a special MDI to iPod adaptor cable that you have to buy from your dealer. It is an extra cost via spare parts or negotiated as part of the deal when you buy the car.

Sorry for the bad news but you are up for an extra expense unless you can argue the point with the dealer that they should have told you that another cable was needed to make an iPod or iPhone work....

Thanks for your comments. I have since found that if I copy songs from my iTunes library over to a USB stick, then that works fine. Given that I can pick up an 8 Gig USB stick for just over $20 - I'll just buy one of those and use it that way.

    Regards,

Just buy the proper ipod cable and it will work fine . Perhaps ask the dealer if he led you to believe your ipod would work with it as.
