Our ebay man has dropped his $150 asking price to $100.
he's a bit elusive when I've been emailing him, but biding has started so someone wants it. Anyone off the forum biding ?
I think that Sensis used to provide the maps for the sat nav systems BEFORE the RNS-510 (I can't remember the model numbers, but original it was a CD unit, then a DVD unit, both of which the disc needed to say in the unit). So maybe that is where some of this confusion about what is and isn't available comes from.

Dunno about anyone else, but that disc pictured looks like a DIY copy and label!
So a bit rich charging that much for something borrowed!

Well, I've bought a copy. I've not collected yet will let you know how it goes !
I would also be interested to see if you have POIs working on this new disk.
As currently it is not working on any FW higher than 2760.
But just out of curiosity, what version RNS510 unit and FW are you.
I think it'll look promising if your CD comes with instructions to update your firmware also.
Also, currently default POIs on V3 map disk are saved in the following directory: \Tables\0\ (with a .url file extension).
I am also expecting a V4 map disk to have something more than just this or something entirely different.
So anything you can share would be much appreciated!

A friend bought this one and installed it. Operates Ok; but he couldn't say whether anything changed (at a quick look from V2 which he had before).
I quickly compared the two recent DVDs as follows. I didn't quite know what to look for; and didn't really want to casually load it either.
v3 disc: name CD_7005, 417MB, most files dated around 5/9/2009
v4 disc: name CD_7360, 470MB, most files dated around 27/10/2010
It is clearly different data. What it really is; I don't know. Is there any way without loading it? I checked directories etc looking for other hints and couldn't find anything that gave me much of a hint; clearly this isn't supposed to be a disc to be checked by humans!
Edit:
actually there is some sort of manifest: (cdrom.toc) in root folder (duhh!). Seems to be a year later. Looks legit - matches up - just later. Same supplier: Sensis (whereis)

I'm not going to get a chance to pick it up from Parramatta until Sunday, so will find out then. I'll do a dump of the directory structure so that people who know more than I do can check it out. I have whatever was the latest official firmware in July of last year ... if someone lets me know how to find out what version I have I'll do that if it helps people.
