Wasn't V3 like 16 from 2009? 2010 I would assume would be 17?

Would a new vehicle shipped in June have v4 or v3?
Seeing that it's now a dealer recognised part (via Pepe) you'd think you could 'request' or argue for it to be installed on any new vehicle purchase going forwards

Some "second hand" model RNS510 out of Europe are saying they have V4 Aus/NZ maps included for the pass couple of months now.
Would it make sense (?????) to release the maps in Europe before sending them to us first in Volkswagen's wierd mind.

Past VWs- T-Roc R-Line, Golf 6, 7 and 7.5, Touareg 7L and 7P, Passat B5.5, Polo MK3, Polo MK4 and GTI
Strange that VW Australia uses Sensis / Whereis maps for the RNS510, but VW everywhere else uses Navteq maps, which are generally updated more frequently. Doesen't guarantee that compilation to suit RNS510 would happen any more frequently, however... My RNS510 is stuck in 2008/9 as well! I live in an area with many new roads, and the system wants me to "make a U-turn if possible" many times...

I think that Sensis used to provide the maps for the sat nav systems BEFORE the RNS-510 (I can't remember the model numbers, but original it was a CD unit, then a DVD unit, both of which the disc needed to say in the unit). So maybe that is where some of this confusion about what is and isn't available comes from.
Our ebay man has dropped his $150 asking price to $100.
he's a bit elusive when I've been emailing him, but biding has started so someone wants it. Anyone off the forum biding ?

So when you upgraded to 3810, did you do any intermediate upgrades to ensure you received the new Partitioning that is required by the new maps?
I'm still running 2720 on my C (star) unit, and apparently 4000 should be out soon so might look at updating to 4000 and the v4 maps![]()

From what I've gathered so far, FW 3810 will partition, but FW 39XX don't. So yes ... you do need to load FW 3810 first to get the separate POI partition, if you want the higher Beta versions.
At this very moment, FW 2760 is the only one that will support POIs currently on both the V3 and supposed V4 map.
It will also read a modified map disk and importing pre-loaded destinations on a SD card.
So from a fully functional map perspective, stick to FW 2760 for now!
However Maverick has mentioned FW 2840 as the last official release in the FW 2XXX series.
But links are nowhere to be found at the moment!
