RNS 850 - loading the Nav Disc

Well you would had thought that the RNS 850 was the same set up as the RNS 510 but it appears no. I have just received my new (Version 4.1) Nav disc and went to load it. Following all advice on the net (for RNS 510) I placed it into the DVD slot with system off - nothing. Turned on system - still nothing. Went into setup - still no way of loading this disc. The DVD is working because I can hear the disc running up, but there is no way (I can see) to allow me to do anything.

So does any one have any idea what to do? Oh and getting a secret menu to find out what version is loaded on the hard drive involves plugging in external equipment. Looks like I'll need a late Xmas gift from Ross Tech.

Try insert the DVD with the system powered on and map selected. It should detect the disk inserted is a nav DVD and prompt you if you want to update it.

Well found the way, by pressing PHONE and SET UP buttons together after 3-5 seconds it will take into a system view. This will then allow you to update whatever software you have via CD/DVD, USB or SD Card by selecting it. Only problem is it is not a secret menu which allows you to see what version mapping you have but does tell you your firmware.
Current version firmware is 0203. Unlike the RNS 510 I have not found a way to imput custom POIs.
