Smart phone adhesive disc mounts
Anyone used one of these? Essentially an adhesive disk to create smooth surface on a textured dash for suction cup mounts.
My concern is what if any effect it will have on the dash material and if they can be removed without damaging dash when I go to sell my Mk6?
The one I have is a Google Phone car dock. I would prefer to mount it to the dash where it will be less obtrusive.
Apparently the adhesive disc has double sided 3m tape on it.
Also some bloke has worked out how to convert a round vent outlet to a suction cup attach point. Has anyone seen this done for the rectangular VW MK6 vents?
PS.. Google Navigation is way cool with the Satellite maps.

Google maps would be good if you could save/cache them. I use the GPS more often when I'm not in a 3G zone rather than when I am in one. Nokia maps work on my N96 for the meantime. I have a decent phone holder from a 3 store. I've put it on the right edge of the windscreen. It's very adjustable so it's location is perfect for me. Hopefully I wont have to stick anything anywhere when I get a Golf.

Google maps on the Google Nexus Phone does cache the maps. But to what degree I am not sure. I am with Telstra so 3G zone is widespread for me.
Anyone know if these adhesive discs will root up the plastic dash. My guess is not - because it it just double sided tape of some sort.
