RNS 510 Voice Control

Anyone using the voice control option to control the RNS 510 ?

I understand the VW kit can be configured to control the bluetooth phone module AND the RNS 510 - but I dont know what you can actually 'control'...

I installed a microphone in mine to use voice control even though I have no bluetooth. I was a little disappointed that the Sat Nav did not work with voice control. (not the fault of the unit) Then the V3 maps came out and I thought an upgrade would allow this feature. Alas no, still can't speak a destination and get the RNS 510 to work with it. The only thing I can do is change radio stations, switch between HDD and memory card etc. I think if I had bluetooth I could initialise calls by voice though.

Yes but I have both bluetooth and RNS 510. I can use voice control for destinations and dial names and numbers among other things. radio as well I think but don't use it much for that.

I am keen on the idea of voice for destinations, because it can be quite slow keying in the addresses. What's involved in getting the voice controlled destination? Do you say the street and city in one go, or await prompts from the RNS ?

do you know if the feature of voice control for destination input is only because you have bluetooth and RNS510?
I have the RNS510 without bluetooth and it will allow me to start/stop the route guidance etc but will not recognise destinations. Not sure if its something i am doing/not doing or if its the setup of the system.

My understaning is that voice control does not with the Australian maps for destination input (certainly it does not work on mine). I have a number of saved destinations though with voice tags and it recognises these. I do have bluetooth.
