RNS 510 / MFD integration

Hi all. I'm the owner of a new Polo with the RNS510 optioned in.

I've been scouring the web looking for ways to get the most out of my new purchase and have noticed on a few posts people have mentioned that they thought a benefit of the system was the integration with the MFD, eg seeing next manoeuvre navigation instruction on the display above the steering wheel.

I do not see anything on my MFD that suggestions to me that they are integrated.

There are no turn instructions or speed limit information or radio station codes or anything tells me that they are linked.

Does this mean that the system hasn't been installed correctly or is this integration not available with the Polo?

I have a similar problem, but with the Zenec nc2010. It seems only the GTI supports integration between the MFD and the RNS510, as it has the high line MFD.

Have you clicked through the steering wheel menu, there should be Audio and GPS plus the normal set up menu ?

No Audio or GPS menu in my TDI.

It often depends on what type of MFD/MFI you have. Do you have a TrendLine or Comfortline model (or whatever they're called in the Polo range). It works fine in my Comfortline Golf, but probably wouldn't in a Trednline.

That said, I had to code in the changes to get them to appear. Try phoning your dealer.

Hi Paul,

The reason that you are unable to view the features you are talking about is because the Polo doesn't have a Full MFD therefore is unable to display things like turn instructions or speed limit information or radio station codes or anything like other VW vehicles with a full MFD will do.

There is no issue with the installation if that's all that isn't working.

Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about it, its just the way the Polo is.
