RNS 510 installation. What to look out for?

    Hey guys,

I am looking at getting an RNS 510 from ebay and installing it into a 2010 GTI.

Rns510, Cars, Bikes, Boats, Electronics, rcd510 items at low prices on eBay.com.au

They are asking for $950 - $1000 shipped.

    Part Number: 1T0035680C

When it comes to installing the unit, I have read up and found the following links:

HOW TO: Retrofit an RNS510 Sat Nav System.
YouTube - Futrell Autowerks 2010 MK6 GTI "Project Unfinished Business" Finishing Touches

So it seems easy enough to install.

When it comes to programming my car, I have MDI and RVC and Park Assist installed into the car and I was wondering what else needs to be done on the programming side of things?

On my RCD510: Park assist, MDI and RVC all use the display in some way or another, so I'm guessing some work needs to be done here to get it to work correctly?

Any advice here would be appreciated.

P.S: I have tried to look on the my-gti.com website that Maverick has and it doesn't seem to be up at the moment to view?

I have been able to load the site and I have some more questions:

Volkswagen RNS 510 coding when installing with a factory amplifier | my-gti.com

What does this mean with a "When retrofitting a RNS 510 into a vehicle with a factory amplifier coding is required to drop the “output stage power 26 dB” to “output stage line-out 12 dB”.

What is a factory amplifier exactly? is that if you get Dynaudio? or is that just the stock standard sound system?
