RNS-510 Few Problems with software..

Hey guys, I just installed my RNS-510 Version D,
sw version: 3800
map version: 7360
these are Australian maps.

But i am having a couple of problems...

- When I press anything to do with POI's, it simply hangs on "Loading please wait..."
- When I press bluetooth devices (bluetooth works fine, just this sub menu under settings) It hangs once again.
- When i press advanced map settings under map settings, hangs again..

Why is this happening? I left it for over an hour to see if it was just slow to load for first time, but no good.

But admittedly, my warnings are scattered all over the place and not a sticky!

There's no working POIs with our crappy Australian maps (including 7360 V4 map)!

If working POIs is important to you, then you need to rollback SW to version 2760 or lower.

Otherwise, hope and pray (like everyone of us) that the next map version has the correct POI file structure that's compatible to 3XXX series SW.


Anyhow I'll repeat my warning again here:

POIs will only work on Australian maps (up to and including version 7360 or V4), IF you're running SW version 2760 or lower.

In other words, don't buy RNS510 units pre-installed with higher SW versions.

Ask them to re-install the older 2760 version for you!

Ah okay, thank you, that is a pain! May have to downgrade, i read it can be done via secret menu.

edit: also what about the bluetooth devices and map advanced?

Where did you get your RNS510 from? Sounds like there are a lot of issues!

bought it from "used_parts_specialists" on ebay, the lithuanian seller.
I have been in contact with him but he has not been able to give me a solution, he offered to send me the cd with an older firmware version etc.

It's got nothing to do with the sellers!

We've just got outdated maps not compatible with the latest SW.
Europe don't have this problem with theirs.
So just assume our maps are compatible and didn't test.

I believe all your hang problems are related to POI not working.

I get the same issue in my newly delivered Golf R Sits in the settings/setup page with "Please Wait" when going to a couple of different menus.
