RNS 510 coding assistance in Canberra

    Hi guys,

I have an RNS 510 that I bought from AudiUpgrades on eBay about a year ago and it worked perfectly. CVWC Installed it for me when they used to do this kind of work.

About a month ago, I updated the firmware and maps versions. The updates applied fine, but ever since then, my RVC has stopped displaying when in reverse gear, even though I can still hear the unit physically popping out (Golf R) when I engage reverse gear.

From what I've read, it sounds like a coding issue and I may need to enter a workshop ID or something after upgrading the firmware?

Is there anyone who can help me with this in Canberra or any workshops that you can recommend who have a VAG COM?

I'm happy to shout a carton of beer if there's someone who has a VAG COM and doesn't mind giving me a hand on a weekend or something?

    Thanks

    Aaron.
MY11 Golf R and loving it.

I'm not sure of the specifics you need to code the RNS, but I'm in Canberra and have a VAGCOM cable you're welcome to borrow if you want to have a go yourself.

Drop me a PM if you want and we can sort out the details.

    Heyys mate,

I'm also in canberra and am looking at retrofitting a bluetooth kit into my 09 CC. I keep reading that coding is required (though i have no idea where to begin with that). Would you possibily be able to help with this as well..?

Well that kindly answers the 'how' question - if you want to borrow the VCDS cable and give it a try you're most welcome.

Not sure if this thread is too old to post in but I will give it a try.

I am currently in a fix. I have a Skoda Superb (2011 TDI Elegance). It came with "Premium Sound" from the factory. So it has an amp under the passenger seat which powers its 10 speakers. Clearly this wasn't enough so I ventured to upgrade my audio system.

I am currently running DLS UP8I (8" mid bass and 1" tweeter) + DLS 2.5" dome midrange for my front stage. This is hooked to two Massive audio amps (a D800 and V1000) and these amps are hooked to a Massive Audio core 1 which is a DSP. Haven't upgraded the rear speakers yet (too poor).

My problem is the guy who did it for me was initially very confident that he would be able to get the setup working. But alas he can't. So I have a car where everything is wired but it won't work properly (it is still working just not properly). The root of the problem is the fact that in my car the volume control, the balance, fader and navigation announcements are routed through the factory amp which I have semi-disconnected (It is only connected to the canbus, I have re-routed all audio to my equipment). So currently I have no volume control (except for what I can do with the DSP), balance, fader or Nav announcements.

What I need done is to re-program the head unit so it behaves like a standard headunit in other skoda cars (which don't come with premium sound) and this is becoming a very big challenge. Can anyone here help???

I am based in Canberra but will be going to Melbourne for the Christmas holiday.
