RNS 510 Bluetooth playing up with my phone

    Hi,

My bluetooth has started playing up a bit in my skoda.

    Version Information
    App 1.04.05
    HW200-SW331
    Boot 1.1.1

    Are there any upgrades available,
    running SW 5238.
    HW H42

Or a replacement for the RNS510, that i can fit easily?

    Thanks in advance

Can you expand on exactly what you mean by 'playing up'?
The RNS510 doesn't itself contain the bluetooth module, its an external device.

I'm not 100% sure but from what you have posted above it looks like you may have a Mobridge aftermarket BT module, as opposed to a VW OEM unit such as a 9W7 etc. So depending on what your problem is might have to contact Mobridge.

Connects and then disconnects on startup, finally works after a minute or so.
Thought it might be the RNS unit, as it is often slow to start up recently, sometime no music for a minute or so.
    Maybe just a coincidence.

Yes it is the Mobridge unit.

First trouble shooting step with any BT issue is to remove the device pairing from both devices (phone and Mobridge), and set them up again.

I have tried that. Was thinking that maybe newer phones need newer bluetooth software. Will see what Mobridge say.
I am concerned that the unit is wearing out maybe.
The bluetooth may not be the real fault.

If you can't get it to behave as expected might be worth getting an oem unit. They are solid.

Android auto and pq35/46 platform with oem components is pie in the sky at the moment, but never say never.
There are aftermarket double din units such as pioneer etc or generic Chinese ones.
I meant oem Bluetooth such as 9w7 to go with your rns
