    Rns-510

    Hi all,
I am an idiot let me say that up front!

I have purchased a second hand RNS-510 from ebay and the radio code wasn't included as promised and they guy can't remember the correct code. I can send it back overseas and get a new one from him with the code this time but it has already been installed into my polo so want to avoid this if I can.

I tried a website that claims to find the codes for you but that was incorrect too. Any other tricks I can try to get the code before i send the unit back?

Also will I need to do any re-programming to get it to work correctly if i do get it to work? I have the seperate removeable bluetooth unit in my polo so wasn't sure if that would just work with the RNS-510 or not.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I would send it back (at his expense)if he cant produce the code then chances are its probly stolen. there not hard to put in or out. pop the surround and 4 torx bits and its out (once you disconnect your plugs)

depends on the age of the RNS and what car it came from. I got a H version built 6/2012 and the only thing that it wont do is show directions on the MDF. steering controls work. and even the camera works without coding.

Yep definately hot, would ask for a refund. Report it on Ebay. Hope you paid with Paypal.

The organised theives at least would have given you a keycode, they can re-write a new code with the right tools...only place I know you can get this done is Adelaide. You could ship it to Transporter and he could put a new code on it and send it back to you.
