    RNS 315 (I think) into mk5 2007 Jetta

    Hello all,
I've got a touch screen head unit that came out of my Dad's 2014 Amarok Canyon (Pretty sure its an RNS 315) and I'm wanting to install it into my 2007 Jetta.
However there are a few details about the install that are in a bit of a grey area to me:

I know I'll need a GPS aerial for it, but will I require any other cables or adapters to make it work?
    - also with the GPS aerial, the genuine Volkswagen one is $98 whereas I've found them on eBay for around $10... is it worth the extra money to get the genuine part? or has anyone had any luck with cheaper alternatives?

Will my steering wheel volume buttons still function?

Will it integrate with my reverse sensors at all?

And will the iPhone cable in the glove box still work?

Any tips or experience would be greatly appreciated!

The Ebay GPS antennas are fine. Paid $20 for mine. You will also need a aerial adapter as your car will have 2 aerial leads and the unit uses a twin.. ive not heard of anyone fitting a RNS310 but im guessing it will be same as a RCD510 RNS510 and you will need to update or replace your canbus gateway unit or you will get a flat battery as your car is pre 2008. Functions from steering wheel should work but dont think parking sensors will show on screen as 07 jetta system too old for that.

Hey, sorry it's taken me a while to reply!
I've attached a couple of photos of the unit if that helps at all

Is the canbus gateway something that is a direct swap over? Or will there be some sort of coding involved?
    Cheers!

Yeaahh ok, is coding something I can do myself or am I better off getting someone else to look at it?

You need a vcds tester to code it
