The fact that your RNS worked fine would tend to suggest there might be an issue with the rcd330. But you'd need to test it in another car to know for sure

I've just put the RCD330 + into a 2011 B7 Passat Highline Variant and it works fine.
OPS shows up, but it doesn't dim the audio.
Carsystems.pl now sell OEM composite cameras and looms, so that's what I will be getting.
Highline B7's come with BT Premium and MDI, which I will just be removing from the Gateway.
The Media and Nav screens don't appear in the MFD, but not a deal breaker. Wife's car anyway and she prefers the Spotify interface and Siri for hand free iMessage.
I will post up how the RVC looks, and I have read reports the composite OEM camera with this RCD330 plus is better than the MK7 Golf R RVC, but that's conjecture at this point in time.
Some questions for people that have done this already or have researched it.
I have a mk6 R with Dynaudio and RNS510 (with nav and the ****ty Bluetooth connectivity that only lets you answer and hang up the phone).
The other issue with my unit is the GPS is always on the piss and thinks your about 500m from where you actually are.
So I am looking for an upgrade and came across the RCD330+ and then of course this thread.
- does the RCD330 work with OEM reverse camera and sensors?
- does the RCD330 work with Dynaudio?
- I assume it's a direct plug and play?
- I assume GPS is redundant with carplay/android play?
- can you get a unit that does both android and apple? (Work phone is iPhone and personal is Samsung)
Thanks heaps!
The prospect of upgrading the RCD310 with crappy bluetooth in my Polo 6R is quite attractive. However I am also looking at getting a Galaxy S8, so I need to try and find a model that has Android Auto, right? Seems only a few have this like this one:
Buy Products Online from China Wholesalers at Aliexpress.com
1. No, if you have RGB back cam. RCD330 works only with composite. You will need additional RGB to composite adaptor.
2. Some people has done it. I believe you need VAGCOM and VCDS coding.
3. Yes and No. If you car has Dynaudio or back cam or OPS, this is not easy plug and play. You need VCDS coding.
4. As far as I know No since this head unit is from China and Android Auto doesn’t work there. But in your case you are using Samsung then still can use MirrorLink.
