Recommend me an AV input module for my RNS510

Reading between the lines/threads - no one has actually done this then?
I do have VIM.
I want an alternative video source option - ie a feed from my new in car dash cam and a feed from my ipad / iPhone.

I contacted GSM and no reply as yet....maybe still hung over??

I like the idea of the T-era unit and adding a av switch to allow more than one feed.

Next pay queue ill get the eBay T-era unit and let everyone know how it goes.

You do realise of course that you can only legally watch this when stationary as only a satnav or Rear vision camera is legal to be observed from the drivers seat.

Technically I dont think the RVC is legal to watch when moving either although I had one when vanning.

Seems a lot of money for a restricted use item.

Maybe GSM observe holidays like lots of us.

I don't view the videos when driving, but my children do enjoy watching the screen if a cartoon is on.

Next pay day is still two weeks off, so GSM should have sobered up by then

It's not that expensive given my other hobbies are inexpensive and I use the car a lot. It's all relative.

A multifunction screen is a legal minefield - I'd happily standby my using the screen to navigate a radio station scan, or to determine where I was - via the GPS. Come to think of it - if the phone rings, I use that screen to determine who is calling and whether I reply or not.
It's not as clear cut when the display manages various information sources.
I do agree watching (or attempting to watch) a movie whilst driving should incur the full wrath of the constabulary and the judiciary ... Unless of course your a show biz personality or politician ... Well that's half of Canberra.

The worst thing from an 'eyes off the road' standpoint is navigating folders/song lists & other nested menus.

will this work on the RCD510 and if so does the screen come when you put it in reverse with the aftermarket camera,and does it need vagcom to set it up

hey mate, you need a vag com, we have an installer in Tasmania if need be.
The RVc works as it should in reverse.
