Recommend me an AV input module for my RNS510

Hi,
Looking to buy myself an AV input module to allow me to watch video in (and sound) on my 510.

I'd appreciate some recommendations from actual users

Hi

I am trying to do this. The problem is activate the AV input in RNS510, all the others is easy. The RNS510 has an RGB input so if you have a source with RGB output is a direct connection (I have an little home DVBT receiver that has RGB output so I only need to change the power input).
I try to change the RNS510 firmware to put the AV flag always high and not vw tuner dependent but I need the firmware source.
Other possibility is writing to can and say "I am the tv tuner and I am here", now I try to decode the can message...

Have a read on the "video in motion" hack for the RNS. Might be what you are after, can play limited formats from SD Card or from the HDD. That's all I know about it, but there is more info on here (might be under VIM too)

AFAIK the RNS510 can't play video files from HDD or SD card. Only DVD. Video in Motion allows the video to keep playing when you speed is below 255kph instead of the default setting of ~7kph.

There are a bunch of AV devices for the RNS510 on eBay if you search. It uses the same connection as the reversing camera, so you can't have both. I have a camera so I've never bothered with this.

What might be the solution is to fit a switchbox in the RVC video circuit with several inputs into it and make the feed switchable similar to what I did with two rearview cameras. I realise the VW setup is a bit more complicated but could be worth a try

Yes should do the trick However I was thinking of a simpler cheaper solution like about $20 from Jaycar without all the electronic controls.

Whatever you want to pay I guess
