    RE: CD Changer

    Hi all,

Quick question in realtion to the CD Changer (6 disc) in MK4 Golf's.
Are all Golf's (namely my 2002 GTi) equipped / pre wired for the OEM 6 disc Changer?
I can't seem to find the connector, or is it just part of the wiring loom that gets a connector fitted at time of Changer being installed?

I am looking at getting a Stacker from the US as there are plenty on eBay, or is anyone selling one here?

    Any help would be great!

Maybe this one should also be moved to the Ausio section for a better response???

Looking at ipod connection, this is an OEM part and just plugs into the stacker control plug...
$180.00 from dealers, but have seen for about US$120, so I will check freight...

Australian spec head units are not compatible with the OEM US ipod interface and stacker units as we get different stereo units here in Aus.

Double bugger. I went out an purchased a Belkin charger and fm transmitter for $100 odd bucks and it's the biggest heap of effluent I've ever purchased!

Belkin is Bad! Gonna take it back to ****os and swap it for something remotely usefull....

Hi Guys and girls - new to this forum as I just acquired my '04 Passat V5 (which I love), so apologies for bouncing up an old thread, but -
I have a head unit which supports a boot mounted CD changer, but apparently no wiring in boot (I can't find it anyway). I would like to install a CD changer and I have seen lots of genuine Vw parts on eBay, but all in the US or Europe none in Australia and mikinoz says that they are not the same units as fitted in Australia anyway.

So my question is: if I buy another "after market" stacker (such as Clarion, Pioneer or Alpine) will I be able to connect it and will it have full funnctionality? or will I have to spend a lot extra on adapters and special cables and professional installation?

I have seen a number of good bargains around (probably because of the rise of iPod connectors, but I am not that hi-tech and would like to use a cd changer) but I don't want to spend money and then find I have to spend a lot more to make it work.
