Playing via BT? Or MDI?
Does it correct itself if you switch modes and back (ie Media - FM - Media)?
Possible that certain songs have track info in some weird apple format that doesn't play nicely.
So i had a quick search around to see if there was already a thread for this question, but couldnt find anything...
I've got just the standard non-sat-nav touch screen system in my mk6 GTI (so im guessing thats the RCD510), and have noticed that it occasionally mucks up the song info that's displayed on the screen. I check the ipod itself, and its showing the right info. I managed to get photo of it happening:
I know it may not be the clearest, but i can tell you that the ipod show the Fear Factory track that was actually playing at the time, whereas the RCD510 shows Linkin Park (dont judge! )
Anyone seen this before? Is this a warranty fix, or something i can sort out myself...?
thanks in advance,
nickSFC

If i change songs via the iPod/iPhone (rather than via the RCD) i find that it sometimes displays the wrong song title. It normally corrects itself once that particular song is finished though.
As mentioned, if you briefly press the FM button and then back to MEDIA on the RCD it should sort itself out.
I get the same thing occasionally. Usually comes good by re-initializing MDI. I've done a firmware update on the MDI unit some time ago, maybe there's another available??
Thanks for the input folks
Yea I barely take the iPod out of the centre console, so I'm never changing tracks on the iPod itself... I predominantly have a large-ish playlist going on random, and skip tracks with the steering wheel controls
I saw threads about fw upgrades on the RNS510, but not RCD....got any links?
MDI unit itself takes firmware updates

Mine gets out of sync every once in a while as well - particularly if I skip backwards or forwards near the beginning or end of a song. As others have said, jumping back or forward a track or two, or re-initialising the MDI (switch to radio, then back to MDI, etc etc) will fix it up.
