Why would it support exFAT? Almost every device in the world supports FAT32, exFAT requires a license from MS.

I have an RCD510 and have discovered that 4GB SDHC "mix tapes" work brilliant...

My Ipod classic via the Ipod cable is much more unreliable I have stopped using that...

    Cheers

you will find the 32GB are extremely slow. I tried this in my old RCD510 and got so annoyed with the delay (minutes) that I ended up just using 4Gb cards.

my 8G card takes 30sec to load. each albumn has it own folder at root.
I might try putting all the files at root instead.

    30 seconds, WTF

I just loaded up my 8 GB card this morning

Pushed it into the slot and played immediately

    I had artist folders.

do you have the RCD510? How much music on the card?

One thing I have noticed though is that the RNS510 that I have now loads 32Gb cards almost full of music without any delay.

Maybe the RCD510 needs a firmware update to help with the read speed.

this is all recent , so pardon my enthusiasm...

Instantfreakingstanious... I am only using 4gb SDHC cards, but they are like four bucks each, I find that if I feel like a change from retro to jazzy (or whatever), i can pop the SDHC card out and pop the other one in without taking my eyes of the road. Navigating using the selection to choose genres (running the ipod) or folders (on the SDHC) i have to wait till some traffic lights...

I go max two folders deep Artist-> Albums -> Tracks

it is significantly quicker than the iPod, and doest "reinitialise" every couple of starts like the iPod... the RCD remembers where it is on the card every start... I was skeptical of using cards, but i havent touched a CD or the iPod for a fortnight , since i was transporting some files betwen My library (on my laptop- I refuse to run itunes) to the to our old "Ipod loading laptop" to load for my wife ... I thought I might check out the SD card gimmic, and it was like WTF? that is brilliant!!!

maybe not all RCD510's are created equal, mine is an MY12

Thanks guys, maybe I shouldn't get the 32gb card I was looking at then? Maybe just get a few 4gbs as suggested. Seems a decent idea to have different genres on them anyway. Thanks for the help!
