    RCD510 & Parrot handsfree problem

    Hi All,

Can anyone help me where is the best place to go in Canberra to get my head unit (RCD510) to communicate with my Parrot Handfree. I've taken in to my mechanic and he can't get the unit to work even pluging it in to VAG. I think it's a Handfree issue.

    Cheers

It didn't have Bluetooth fitted at first. The hands free is a Parrot Bluetooth hands free CK3000 with connect 2 steering wheel adaptors kit.

Parot kit wont show on RCD510. Its just a basic kit. Best to upgrade to a 9w7 BT kit that will show phone book etc on RCD units

Did it ever work? And if so, what exactly was working?

The CK3000 is a basic kit with no display interaction on the RCD510. It will however work fine and react to the steering wheel buttons.

Also, if it never worked then the connect 2 cable is probably incorrect. There are 2 cables .... 1 for RCD300/310s and 1 for RCD510/RNS510. I have 1 of each as I had the same problem on my 2009 Tig with the Parrot.

When I upgraded to the RCD510 I needed a new Connect 2 cable

    Hi All

Few months ago I upgrade the Head unit of my 09 tiguan from RCD310 to Bosch RCD510. That works fine, then after few months I bought a Parrot CK3000 evolution bluetooth with 2 connect so I can use the button on my steering wheel. I ask my mechanic to open the gateway for hand free, and that all (box ticked) I try to connect the kit today. I follow the manual how to connect it and all as well. The button on my steering wheel is working, making call or picking up calls. My problem now is.
    1. It doesn't cut the music when I try to make or received calls.
    2. My phone pair with the bluetooth but I can't hear any sound coming out to the speakers when I make or received calls.
    3. The people on the other line can't hear me and I can't hear them.

Have I missed anything, do I need to recode the head unit because I change from rcd310 to RCD510?

Where did you get your RCD 510 connect 2 cable

This sounds exactly like the problem I had. The audio pinouts on the RCD310 is different than the RCD510, meaning that the cable does not get the correct signals to and from the Parrot kit.

I got my cable from the local suppliers as they had heard of the problem before. I have no need for it anymore and you can have it for $20 including postage if you want. PM me if interested.
