Not dodgy at all. I have just put my RCD510 up for sale. My code is just written on the back of a VW business card, cause that's all I had to hand when the dealer read out the code after I went in and asked for it.
Just received my ebay RCD510 unit, just curious how many of you here who have bought a unit off someone received it on the official card?
My unit came with a manual dated March 2011, but the code was written on a piece of paper, looks like it was torn off the back of an envelope, little bit dodgy heh.
Regards,
Michael

2010 Candy White Golf GTI 5Dr. Manual, RNS-510, Bluetooth, Tints, GT-CX 18 Gloss Black Rims.
Ironically aftermarket refurbished RNS510 units are written on a card.
Whereas stock units do not come with this card (for security reasons) and all too often not provided by stealer who just assume new owners will never need the code, cause they think they know jack ***** about the units (like them) to ever need to pull them out and sell them to fund their aftermarket RNS510 upgrade!
My advice to all people is to ask for the 4 digit code as part of taking delivery of the vehicle, cause there's no extra incentive for stealer to look it up on their system and write it down for you!
