RCD200 Upgrades?

Sorry if its been asked before, but google search and internal search here didn't result in much.

Missus has a polo gti 9N3 2005 now, and was wondering if the RCD500 goes into it?
If not which models act as direct upgrades, with minimal modifications?

Since there's no steering wheel/MFD integration to worry about and it's just a 2 DIN unit (no custom fascia), why not just get an aftermarket unit?

You just need a CANBUS adapter to have it switch off and either splice into the loom or get a VW => ISO adapter for all the other wiring.

The 300/500 and 310/510 all have the MkV/VI faceplates sorry mate, with a rounded faceplate that looks somehting like this:

Since you don't have steering wheel controls or a funny (sic) faceplate to deal with, you should be able to fit any 2Din head unit from Alpine, Pioneer, JVC et al, however you will need a harness to connect to the quadlock connector, or make one up. You can also fit a single din unit and a dash pocket too.
