RCD 510 Premium 8

Hi,

Have had my new Passat CC 125TDI (build date 11/2010)for a few months and have accidentially cracked the touch screen on my premium 8 RCD 510 radio/bluetooth unit.....Everything is working except the touchscreen, Can you just replace the touch screen or does the whole unit need replacing? Any advice greatly appreciated.

You are able to replace the screen only, yes.

The issue is sourcing one. The best bet is to search the sellers of RNS/RCD on eBay from Lithunia and asking if they will sell a screen as they are a source of refurbished units.

I have a feeling you may find that it is almost cheaper to get another unit though.

wow...that's 3 cracked screens I have read about this morning (so far). Is there a problem?

I am going to update my rcd 510 from my nearly brand new mk6 gti (4000km) to the rns 510. Happy to sell you the RCD 510 from my car.

Hi, Was hoping for just a screen replacement - what would you be looking for? Also is it the RCD510 Premium 8 Version C? with the LED screen etc?

Also now thinking of an upgrade also to the RNS....how are you going about it? ie costs + installation etc?
