    Radio Security Code

Out of interest (maybe a dealer can answer this one) why are new VWs sold without the security pin provided for the radio?
I've had the joy ( ) of chasing the dealer/service centre on three separate occasions for them (for three different cars).
You would think it would be a straight forward request, but no... Like blood from a stone.

Because the car now knows the radio it was made with so if you ever disconnect the radio or battery then it self codes back in. If you take it out and put another car then it needs the code.

    Yep.

Don't need it unless you're fitting it to another car.
