OEM Ipod to RCD200 problem...

Hi there all,
At my wits end with this one.

My iphone has been working fine through (But not charging obviously) my OEM Ipod adapter cable in the glovebox of my Polo GTI.

Last week out of the blue while listening to my iphone the stereo suddenly went dead, when I switched it back on it said LEARN in the display...

Radio and CD came back but from that moment on it cannot 'FIND' the iphone when its plugged in....

Can anyone help? The VW garage say they can have a look on October 16th (GGGGreat)

Does the stereo need a reset?

Any help really appreciated

Ipod Adapter, OEM VAG one.
Stereo, Factory fitted RCD200
Iphone, 3GS

Just FYI if it happens to anyone else. It needs a replacement part so is going into the garage under warranty
