Question regarding Fuses + wiring for dash cam

Hey guys - trying to install a power magic pro but have a list of different fuses.

I know there are 2 main wires:
BATT: needs to connect to a fuse that is usually permanently on
ACC(+): needs to connect to a fuse that only turns on when ignition is on.

What are your recommendations to use? I have attached 2 photos below for fuse boxes on both sides of the car.
I am thinking drivers side A3 or A15 for ACC and then permanently on I am thinking B6 or B10 (Both on first page/image)

    Thoughts?

    Thanks
    Roland

Go to Jaycar and buy two 10amp fuses with pigtails on them Part numbers SF5120 or SF5110 The first is the smaller type fuse The second is the normal size one.

    http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=SF5110

Find a spare fuse socket that has permanent power for the parking side of the Power magic and a switched one for the normal operation of the camera.

If there are no spares just change one for the one with the pigtail they come in different amperage's so buy one to suit but stay away from essential things like body modules etc

Best to hook into an accessory fuse like aircon or similar

Also as said get a Ciggy socket Part no PS 2003 and wire that in to the pigtail on the fuse

I have installed several of these in my Passat the Polo and a Ford Territory.

Unless you park rear in the front camera is a bit useless for a park camera anyway.

You need one at the back for that .

So you dont really need the Power Magic.

I have just bought a DR500GW-HD WIFI and have installed it without the Power Magic, just put an inline fuse in.

Where do you get the book with the diagrams in it????????

    Sorry to hijack the thread;
Hillbilly, how do you find the image quality of the DR500GW-HD WIFI? ...and you've said you installed several of these, did you use BV DR400G and if yes how is the image quality compared to the new one?

Well havent actually taken it for much of a drive yet but will in an hour or so.

Looked at the images on the card after leaving it running in the garage and a short run down the road.

Initial impression The lens is a much wider one than the 400 as can see bottom of A pillars in corner of image. would be at least 300mm wider on each side

Gives slight fisheye effect as in a wide angle camera lens

Quality is similar but the Magnifier is no where near as good as they show on the net.

Tried looking at plates of cars that were going the other way and could hardly read them in magnify mode

So thats a disappointment. Uses the same power cord so that saved some work.

Is slightly large diameter and also longer so you need to mount it slightly differently to get lens in exact centre of screen.

Will post again later after setting up the WIFI

It went fine and I can walk around the house with Iphone with car out the front and watch the neighbours walk past

Well dont know about that I would say your brightness needs to be set a lot higher.

Here are two shots taken in different countries and different weather off mine

Both on a DR400G and yes the speeds are correct I hadnt reset it when I came home

This one in Arizona in a Chrysler 300 on a warm sunny day

This one in Brisbane on an overcast wet day in my Passat

This one for Transporter Done this Arvo in bright sunlight with the 500 Note the bottom ends of the A pillars in edge of pic in contrast to the narrower angle of the 400 in the above pic
