In my old car I had
HU : Panasonic CQ-8900W (Awesome HU)
Front Splits : Pioneer 6.5" Yellow splits later changed to Boston Pro 6.5" splits (incredible SQ)
Rear coax : Infinity reference 5.25" (Dissapointing imo)
Amp : Akai 4x100 (Best value, great SQ - Similar (if not better) to jaycar stuff)
    Amp 2 : Jaycar Monoblock
Sub : First I had dual 12" JL Audio W0 in sealed box, changed to 1 x 12" JL W3 in a sealed box then finally changed to a Cliff Designs 12" (CD was an absolute monster sub, weighed about 50kgs + box and was rated to 1600RMS - Played lower and harder than a strippers panties )
Entire car sound deadened + Top notch cables etc.

Everytime I get in a car with a half decent stereo I miss it - I have a Pioneer Deck (9050 iirc) around here somewhere I'll eventually get around to installing in my A3/any new car I buy.

Kenwood mp3 head unit, sony 6x9's and the factory front splits
Would much rather spend 1k on a home stereo, but each to there own.
