    Polo Install

    Hi all

Been collecting things bit for qite a while now and it is time to get the stereo in

Other cars I have done myself, but being a new car I dont want to pull it apart myself.

Biggest problem is the Deck. I am putting a Pioneer AVIC F900 in with GPS etc

I have tried googling and cant work out about the canbus, if I need a adapter or not.
The guy who was going to do my install didnt say anything about it, now today another shop said i need a $250 adapter
Also something about a wire needs to connect to a speed sensor for the GPS

    Anyone have experence

    Thanks

Oh it is a 07 GTI Polo

I'm still researching all of that myself but I'm actually looking at getting units specifically designed for VWs. That way everything just comes right out of the box and ready to go for the specific car. Want more to look into it?

Connects2 already make most of the suitable canbus interfaces and allow you to retain steering wheel button controls. just make sure you get the correct adapters for your car & the Pioneer HU.

Its not cheap but depends if you want them to work or not - i wouldn't like having useless buttons.

    Thanks

But polo is different to the MK5 golf, no steering wheel buttons

Ah sorry, wasn't sure about the buttons
    .
There would still be a Connects2 CANBUS device for polo:

And you'd need something like the 'CTPIONEERLEAD' but best to check with a good audio shop like Phat Audio down there (sound like you may have already).

    Cheers,
